Are you looking for an affordable and attractive alternative to concrete or paving? Liquid limestone may be the answer you’re looking for. What is liquid limestone and what are its advantages?
What is Liquid Limestone?
Liquid limestone is a mixture of concrete, crushed limestone and other additives that is used in the construction of driveways, pool surrounds, paths, garden features and alfrescos. Poured and spread like concrete, unlike concrete’s unattractive naturally grey colour, liquid limestone has a lovely natural “Mediterranean” colour that feels cool underfoot even in direct sunlight. Just like concrete, when laid by experts (that’s us), liquid limestone can be coloured, textured and then patterned by hand, giving you stunning natural paver effects without the expense or drawbacks of their natural counterparts. EBCO Concrete has an outstanding reputation for our liquid limestone finishes. We always come back the following working day after a pour to cut in an individual modern, stylish pattern that is fast leading our competitors outdated styling behind. Nice thick cuts create a stunning finish for your ultimate setting.
What are the Advantages of Liquid Limestone?
Natural stone pavers look great when they’re laid, but require regular maintenance if they are going to continue to look good. If left unattended, weeds can grow in the gaps between pavers and ants may take up residence, creating unsightly anthills. There are very limited controlled gaps in poured liquid limestone! Therefore, weeds and ants are not a problem.
A water based sealer can be applied for a natural matte appearance or a solvent based sealer used for a low-gloss finish and even more effective protection.
As with concrete, control lines are cut into liquid limestone to prevent cracking. Some hairline cracking is to be expected, but generally this is not noticeable and does not require repair or maintenance.
